Innocent Kabenga

Mr. Innocent Kabenga is currently the Strategic Advisor to the Rwandan Ministry of Natural resources (MINIRENA), which coordinates six sub-sectors namely Water Resources; Land and Mapping; Mining; Meteorology; Environment and Climate Change and Forestry. Mr. Kabenga has worked for 8 years as an Assistant Lecturer at the National University of Rwanda where he taught Natural Resources Management and Introduction to Environmental Economics. In the last two years has been the project manager of “Strengthening Institutions for Transboundary Water Resources Management in Africa (SITWA)” a project co-managed by the Global Water Partnership (GWP) and the African Network of Basin Organizations (ANBO). Mr. Kabenga has a MSc in Urban Planning and Environmental Management (University of Montreal, Canada), a BSc in Economics and Environmental Policy (Brock University, Canada); an Advanced Diploma in Land Management and Valuation (University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania). He has contributed to several studies in Rwanda including a study on the Economic Analysis of Natural Resource Use in Rwanda with a Case of Land and Water Resource Use in Rugezi Wetland and Gishwati Forest.
