Mediatrice Bana

Mediatrice Bana has worked with Wildlife Conservation Society Rwanda Program since 2011 as the Sustainable Conservation Finance Manager. Her work focuses on providing oversight role to all remote sensing and GIS work as well as development of Payment of Ecosystem Services schemes in Wildlife Conservation Society Rwanda projects. Currently Mediatrice is directly involved in data collection on the Wildlife Conservation Society's MacArthur Foundation supported project on Nyungwe National Park and Rugezi Wetlands. The overall goal of the project is to support the Government of Rwanda in fulfilling its commitments to the Gaborone Declaration by providing it with critical information on the value of natural capital for development planning and by cultivating national level networks and institutional arrangements that facilitate the integration of national capital into urgent development decisions. Mediatrice has an MSc in Geoinformation science and Earth observation for Natural Resources Management from the University of Twente in The Netherlands.
