Mapping African swine fever across the Indonesian archipelago using media-based surveillance

From SNAPP’s African Swine Fever working group, this study shows that media reports, supplemented by expert interviews, can serve as a low-cost and timely surveillance tool to track the spread and impacts of African Swine Fever across Indonesia, revealing major domestic and wild pig losses that formal monitoring systems often miss.
